Team Automatons was founded in 2019 and is GALA's first and only middle school robotics team. Automatons competes in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge which requires them to build and code a LEGO robot to complete missions in the robot game. Throughout the year, the girls learn research, problem-solving, and teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment.

For the 2019-2020 season, team Automatons competed in the FIRST LEGO League game City Shaper. This year's robot had a claw used to grab and move towers across the game board.
